Preparing your stay

I am an exchange student

Citizen of the European Union

One month before my departure, I fill in the administrative form sent by my school:
– The information form
– The CROUS accommodation application form
– The insurance form.I apply for the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from my local health insurance fund.

Citizen outside the European Union

Three months before my departure, I fill in the administrative form sent by my school:
– The information form
– The CROUS accommodation application form
– The insurance form.
I make an appointment for my visa as soon as I receive confirmation of my admission from my school.

Non-EU citizen residing in the EU

If your application is successful, you will receive a document confirming your admission from one of the schools in our consortium. You will then be able to apply for a visa from the French Consulate in your country of residence. Apply for a student visa if you are applying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

If you hold a “student mobility programme” permit issued by another EU Member State and are coming to study in France, your host institution must notify the French Ministry of the Interior of your mobility: the completed CERFA 15972*01 form should be sent to pointdecontact-sejourdgef@interieur.gouv.fr, together with the supporting documents requested (passport, residence permit, income, health insurance, enrolment). A reply must be given within 30 days. Acceptance of your mobility allows you to continue your studies in France without having to obtain a French residence permit for a maximum period of 360 days and within the limit of the period of validity of the residence permit held in the other country.

I am a student on an individual mobility scheme (Free-moover)
