Last October, as part of the actions to raise students awareness of disability issues funded by the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region, CPE welcomed the troupe from Insolite Fabrik, the Lyon-based professional company of artists with mental disabilities.
Over 210 students attended the performances of “Billy, deux pieds sur terre”, a play that tells the story of a boy’s life from the moment he is diagnosed with a disability at birth, to his entry into the world of adults and work.
The discussion that followed the play tackled questions around the acceptance of disability (at personal, family and school level), work situations, special housing, integration into the workplace…
The debate was playful, interesting, rich and unfiltered: it raised awareness of disability and its approach, with lively participation from the students.
