From June 13th to July 11th 2024, Institut Polytechnique de Lyon organised the International Summer School – 2024 edition!
This five-week summer session offers international students a unique opportunity to discover the academic excellence of the IPL schools, immerse themselves in French culture and enjoy an enriching experience in the city of Lyon.
A rich and stimulating programme
The IPL Summer School offers a comprehensive and stimulating programme combining rigorous scientific courses, French language classes, cultural visits and excursions.
This year we welcomed 16 students from Australia, Colombia, Croatia, Greece, Ireland, Mexico, Russia, Sweden and the United States.
The participants had the opportunity to visit companies linked to our engineering schools such as :
– Hugo Tag – specialist in the finishing of top-of-the-range fabrics;
– Denis & Fils – designer and weaver;
– Bayer – a multinational company specialising in health and agriculture;
– CERN – European Organisation for Nuclear Research
After an initial visit to Lyon, they took part in an outing to the Maison des Canuts, a museum dedicated to the history of Lyon’s silk industry; they also went to the Monplaisir market and were able to test their knowledge of French culinary vocabulary; with the cooking workshop, they cooked a French-style chocolate fondant with pistachio financiers; they discovered the Cité du Chocolat and visited the Cave de Tain with a wine tasting session; a typical family dinner was also very much appreciated!

– Meet students from all over the world and create lasting intercultural links.
